  How long will the initial visit take?

with us to complete the initial visit.

How long will follow-up visits take?
Follow-up visits take about half an hour.

Will the doctor prescribe weight loss medications?
It depends. The doctor will assess your particular medical
needs and weight loss goals to determine if medication
would be beneficial.

What kind of medications do you use?
We use a variety of medications. The doctor will discuss the
various options available and will select the one that best fits
your needs.

Do you offer packaged diet meals?
Yes. We are a Medifast authorized provider and our basic approach
includes the use of Medifast products.

Do I need a referral from my doctor?
You may. We do accept most insurances for weight loss visits, but
each plan has specific requirements. Please give us a call or ask your
provider if a referral is necessary.

Do you accept adolescent patients?
We accept patients 18 years of age and older.

What is Medifast?
Medifast is a low calorie, low fat, nutritionally balanced program that
helps people lose weight faster than traditional diet plans. Medifast
products come in individual packets that you mix with water, shake,
microwave, or refrigerate to create an assortment of Medifast Meals.

No. Medifast does NOT contain any added caffeine, stimulants, ephedrine
or other herbs that might be harmful to your body.

What is Super Citrimax?
Citrimax contains a natural appetite suppressant made from the vine
of a South Asian fruit. Super Citrimax works without stimulating the
central nervous system so it does not cause problems with heart rate,
blood pressure or other symptoms such as insomnia or nervousness.

What is the difference between Medifast 55 and Medifast 70?
They are very similar except for the protein content. Medifast 55 has
11 grams of protein per serving while Medifast 70 has 14 grams per
serving. The Medifast 70 also has about 10 more calories per packet.

What is the difference between shakes and other Medifast Meals?
All Medifast Meals, including shakes, may be used interchangeably.
Only bars should be limited to one per day because of their higher
caloric and carbohydrate content.
